I talk to them about everything and anything. They know all about babies and vaginas and penii, and sex, and drugs and booze, and politics and religion and lots lots more. I think we are not damaging our kids, but actually helping them. They are educated and most other kids aren't. I'd rather my kids know all about stuff than to not know basics of the human body and everything else. Keep up the good work, your kids will thank you someday for being so open with them. I am a parent of three young women and was often chastised for my parenting style. But you know what? My kids don't take huge quantities of drugs, aren't depressed, have healthy views on relationship and sexuality, are functional people, and they actually want to spend time with me. The same cannot be said for many of my former critics' kids who avoid them, won't let them see their grandkids. The parents can't understand why. If you don't show kids real life, who will? If you don't yell at them once in a while, how will they react when someone does?
